Co-Founders of Geezer Skate Company
Josh and Nate have been creating together for over 30 years. They met playing baseball in a youth baseball program in Wills Point, TX. Since they were not very good at baseball, they ended up siting on a rusty metal bench at the same time quite a bit. Over time, they realized they had more in common and became friends. Starting in those early days, they created baseball cards, magazines, drawings and various other types of art. During this time, they picked up the art of skateboarding. It was not pretty art that they created through skateboarding, but they absolutely loved it.
Once in college, they took a bit of a different path with Josh going into theater and Nate studying photography. Just before college, and especially during college, a band by the name of DEFLICTED was formed. They played guitar and sang a duet of many silly, but catchy songs.
Like most people eventually do, they drifted apart in their careers and with their families and ultimately stopped playing music and skateboarding. Nate did the photography thing and Josh did the theater thing. Finally, they reconnected through work as Josh started working with Photoshop and Nate helped guide his new career path, which also included digital teching.
Josh joined Nate and his brother in a different pursuit - Neither Noir - a cosplay based photography company. While this was fun, it turned into a once per year thing and ultimately, they continued to work in the photography industry together.
Finally, at some point in 2014 and over the ages of 35, they decided they should purchase new skateboard set-ups and again pursue their love of skateboarding. While re-learning this new love of skateboarding, Josh and Nate decided that they were going to start a YouTube channel called "Josh and Nate Can't Skate". Not too long after a few hard crashes, they realized how important wearing pads is as older dudes...while on this journey of skating again, they discovered there was a whole community of older skateboarders. While the "Josh and Nate Can't Skate" channel was fun, it was not about that community, so they eventually decided to rebrand their YouTube channel to "Geezer Skate Co." While the Co. in the name stands for Company, it also stands for Community, which is what this company is all about...the "Skate Geezer" Community.
